EVENTS & VENUE HIRE
Across the 800-year lifespan of Great Fulford, we have been home to a wide array of events and special occasions. From weddings to festivals, the house and gardens offer a broad choice of venues:
Inside the house there are no less than three grand state rooms to choose from; The Ballroom, which boasts a stunning plaster ceiling, the historic Great Hall with its fabulous early 16th century carved panelling, and the newly renovated Great Parlour.
Outside, there is the 18th century gothic summerhouse in the dreamy walled flower garden, and for weddings there is the option of being married under the historic Tudor archway which leads into the grand courtyard.
We do not have a table of set tariffs for events, as by definition we feel each event or wedding is a unique event. Please get in touch to discuss how we can cater to your your special occasion, we’d be delighted to help.
Our Spaces
Internally, Great Fulford boasts a suite of grand interconnecting entertainment rooms, which gives it a unique ability to host a large party without the expense of a marquee.
It also has the great advantage that the thick internal walls can enable loud music to be played in one room, while other guests can enjoy normal conversations in adjoining rooms, without having to raise their voices.
The Great Hall
The Great Hall, where the panelling dates from the early 16th century, is entered directly from the courtyard, and can seat up to a hundred people.
The Ball Room
You enter this through a carved 17th century oak doorway. The room is a Double Cube and boasts a glorious ceiling recently completed by the sculptor, Geoffrey Preston. This room is a favourite place for a party or Civil Wedding Ceremony.
The Great Staircase
You leave the Great Hall and enter a cavernous room which soars to the full height of the house and which contains the Great Staircase, a truly grand late 17th century statement.
The Great Parlour
You turn right just before you get to the foot of the Great Stairs and enter the Great Parlour. A late 17th century panelled room which is approximately 1300 sq. feet, combined with The Ante Room.
The Ante Room
This newly refurbished room can be used as an entrance to our event spaces, a bar or alternatively by opening the double doors to the Great Parlour, it creates a combined space that can comfortably seat up to 130 people.
Outside Spaces
Great Fulford has some superb outside locations available for hire. Previously uses include film sets, yoga retreats, natural swimming, campsites for festivals, historical walks - to name a few.
Nightlife & Festivals
We have held a sizeable number of festivals and large private parties at Great Fulford. Many have used projections to bring the house to life at night. Visuals projected by Rupert Newman.
